Hitachi ZW310-7 Wheel Loader
The second new model in 2025 to be unveiled by TMC Scalemodels is the Hitachi ZW310-7 wheel loader, a completely new design which has been replicated to perfection. The ZW310-7 is powered by a Cummins L9 6-cylinder diesel engine which generates 312hp, more than enough to handle a multitude of loading duties. As we take a closer look, there are a lot of fine details to be seen, starting at the rear where the angular shape of the cooling grill is constructed from photo-etched perforated panels. There is a towing hook-up integrated into the counterweight with rear facing light clusters and LED lighting. The large panels on each side of the body are hinged, opening out to reveal the inner workings of the engine bay. This is a really nice feature, enhanced by the perforated grills and internal components which catch the eye. Moving to the articulated chassis, there is a driveshaft across the hinge with a pair of hydraulic cylinders powering the steering movement. Access steps are located on both sides of the chassis leading to the cabin which has a fully modelled interior. It takes a while to appreciate the amount of detailing on the exterior of the cabin, from the various safety railings and rear-view mirrors to the LED lights, aerial and screen wipers front and back. The cabin doors do not open, but that does not detract at all, and the interior is visible by looking through the clearly glazed windows which have printed seals. The loader arms rise to a realistic height, and the bucket curl has more than enough movement to be authentic to the original. Flexible hydraulic lines have been added to all the cylinders, complete with silver connections and a protective plate over the bucket ram. The updated decoration with the dark grey loader arms gives a different look over the previous generation of the ZW310-6, and when compared side by side, the fine detailing of the new release from TMC Scalemodels stands out. The pictures shown here are of the pre-production model and there will be several changes made to the production model.
